Panoramic photos
Since it was first posted, the school panoramic photo from 1967 has generated a great deal of interest and comment and as a result I've had many requests to post panoramic photos from other years. If you have one that isn't listed above, please read the following:

As you're probably aware, it's not possible to easily scan or re-photograph the panoramic photos so they can be displayed on a web site. If you've had a go at scanning a photo in parts and then tried to piece the individual scans together you'll also know that this is almost impossible as well - the pieces don't match up because scanners disort images at the edges.

However, as you can see from the ones already available, it is possible to reconstruct the photos but this takes a great deal of time and effort. The ONLY way I can do this is if I have the original photograph and this must be removed from any frame and mount. As these photos are often very precious to their owners, it's understandable that there can be some reluctance to entrust them to a third party (me) and also to the care of the Royal Mail.

Although I can't vouch for the postal service, as long as the photo is VERY well packaged (preferably rolled up and boxed) and sent by Special Delivery it should come to no harm. Please don't send photos in just jiffy bags or flimsy envelopes as they are NOT likely to survive. You can rest assured that whilst any photo is in my possession I will treat it with the utmost care and return it via Special Delivery within a few days. Please note though that I cannot accept any liability for loss or accidental or any other damage and you must take out adequate insurance to cover against these risks if you feel this is necessary. Alternatively, you're welcome to deliver the photo by hand and would probably get a couple of cups of tea and a few biscuits if you'd like to wait whilst I scan the photo.

Once the photo has been scanned and the image reconstructed, this then has to be mapped and annotated with numbers and names. This takes time so please don't expect instant results. Please also note that because of the time element I won't annotate any images other than complete photos.

If you have a photo you'd like to send or bring, please leave a message in the guestbook with your email address and I'll get in touch.

Finally, if you already have the skills to enable you to do any or all of the above, I'm more than happy to accept complete images.

Thanks again for your interest in the SBGS site.
